Frequently Asked Questions
When do I need to book in for my Newborn Session?
I take bookings within the first months of pregnancy to secure your spot. Your due date will be noted as I only take on a certain amount of newborn sittings per month. Once you have had your baby, you will need to call me to book in your spot. Please be aware that newborn photos are best taken within the first ten days after birth.
When am I best to book my maternity shoot?
Please book in your maternity sessions in your early stages of pregnancy to avoid missing out. Maternity sittings are best booked between weeks 35 and 37 when you are showing proudly yet still comfortable enough to move.
How do I book a session?
Session fees are required to secure your date. This can be paid via bank transfer. I have a number of different collections to choose from, once you have decided on which you would like to purchase, the amount for packages can be either transferred prior to your sitting, or paid cash on the date of the sitting. Additional prints and products can be purchased once you have viewed your gallery.
Should I have a studio or location shoot?
It depends what look you are after for your photos. I recommend the studio for posed and controlled shots. Location shots are great for natural light and kids that are on the move.
What if it rains on the day of our location shoot?
My best used app is the weather report and rain radar! If rain is planned, I will contact you to either rearrange another day or you have the option of using my studio.
What do I need to know for my Newborn session?
Please make sure you keep your baby awake for about an hour before your session, it’s probably best to bath your baby to relax them and then to feed them just before you arrive. It’s best to have a simple to open outfit on so that when you arrive, we can quickly undress your baby and wrap them to keep them asleep.
How long will my session take?
Newborn sessions generally take about 2 hours depending how settled your baby is. Please make sure you arrive on time so that we can get lots of gorgeous images of your baby. I will email you a few more tips once your baby has been born.
Any other session, be it family, maternity couples etc, generally take about 1 hour.
What clothing do I bring?
